Sustainability
Resource-friendly manufacturing uses up to 100 percent recycled material for some of our city backpacks. Each pack in our UP series is made from 35 to 40 half-liter PET bottles. That reduces their carbon footprint by around 50 percent and saves a lot of water and crude oil. The UP backpacks are bluesign® certified products, which means they meet the textile industry’s most stringent requirements for consumer protection, occupational safety and environmental sustainability. Performance materials
An environmentally friendly coating that is completely PFAS free protects your daypack from rain and road spray, so it beads right off the surface. Specialized polyester threads and fabrics are worked together to make them extremely tear-resistant. The result is one rugged backpack.
Clever organization
The clever compartment layout on backpacks like the Giga is dialed in to commuters’ specific needs. A padded sleeve protects your laptop or tablet, and you can keep valuables in a dedicated interior pocket. Another pocket offers space for documents, while an organizer panel helps you keep pens, smartphone and a charging cable within easy reach.
Our comfortable daypack back systems
- Contact: The deuter Contact back system hugs the back, evenly distributes the weight of a laptop, documents, lunch, etc., and generally makes for an easier carry. A breathable 3D AirMesh provides good airflow between the pack and your back. The Vista series has this back system, as do the sustainable UP series daypacks.
- Airstripes: The exceptionally well ventilated deuter Airstripes back system is used for our sportier casual and commuter backpacks: the Giga, Stepout, Gigant and Walker all feature the system, which was initially developed for bike backpacks and ensures a stable fit and superior airflow. Two breathable strips of padding run in parallel to each other along either side of the spine. When this pack is used for bicycle commuting, the air channel between these pads keeps the rider’s back dry without impacting the snug and secure fit.
